Eligibility and the method of transferring more funds to your blocked account depend on the purpose of your transfer and the status of your blocked account. Below, we listed the possible scenarios. Please read and choose the one that best fits your situation.
Important!: If your account's total blocked amount is over €22834, we need written confirmation from the authority handling your visa application confirming the blocked amount you need.
Scenario 1:
You have not transferred the full amount yet and do not have sufficient funds in your blocked account to receive your 06 Blocked Amount Confirmation, you can go to the payment page and initiate a new payment to transfer more funds to your blocked account!
Scenario 2:
You have received the 06 Blocked Amount Confirmation in the amount that the visa authorities requested from you. If you do not need to increase the monthly amount or length of your blocked account, please DO NOT transfer more funds.
Scenario 3:
You need to increase the monthly amount or the length of your Blocked Account.
You can submit a change request via your Expatrio User Portal.
Please go to the Blocked Account menu and look for the 'Change Details' button there. Click on it, provide the new Blocked Account set up you need, and submit your request.
Scenario 4:
You have a "live" blocked account where you receive your monthly payouts regularly, but you need to extend your blocked account,
Please log in to the Expatrio Portal and select Blocked Account. From here, you will need to select Extend/Apply.
- If the option 'Extend' is available, your Blocked Account currently has funds, and monthly payments are being processed.
- If the 'Apply' option is available, your Blocked Account payments have all been processed, and no funds remain.
From here, you will need to complete your extension request. Once submitted, it will be verified, and we will open your extension account for you.

You want to add your family member to your blocked account for a family reunification visa:

Scenario 6:
Visa authorities ask you to add your university tuition fee to your blocked account as the unblocked amount.
We add your tuition fees as an Additional Basic Sum to your blocked account. From the experience of our existing users, we can confirm that German visa authorities accept the Additional Basic Sum as an unblocked amount.
