The money you transfer must arrive in the Blocked Account in Euro since the account is held in the Eurozone. If you do not have the necessary amount in Euro and want to use your own currency, you should instruct your bank to process the transfer in Euro or exchange the required amount at first. We recommend conducting a small research on exchange rates in your area as even the small difference in exchange rates can save you a lot of money. Of course, the choice of exchange service provider is up to you.
Please keep in mind that the funds will not arrive in your Blocked Account if you are transferring in another currency than Euro.
We recommend you to consult with your bank to make sure the transaction is made in Euro and to be aware what is the cost of international transfer (as they may vary depending on the country you are transferring from, the bank provider you are using, the amount of money you want to send).
In order to make international money transfer as convenient and cost-efficient as possible for you, Expatrio has partnered up with so-called Payment Service Providers that are providing local solutions.
