You may have decided not to come to Germany anymore, your visa got rejected or you simply do not need your blocked account anymore. If one of the previous is the case and you would like to close your blocked account, please send us a blocked account closing request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Expatrio Support Team will process your closing request and enable you to download your "09 Closing Order" document in the Expatrio portal.
Please note: You can either choose to have the funds from your Blocked Account being transferred to (1a) The bank account where the funds are have been originally sent from (the "source account" as stated in your transfer receipt) OR (1b) a bank account in your own name (which can be in Germany/SEPA area or somewhere else in the world).
Once you have downloaded the 09 Closing Order, please send another email with the subject "Closing Order [UserID]" to email@example.com. Please attach the following documents to the email:
- (1a) If you would like to have your funds sent to the “source account”: Please provide the transfer receipt that shows the initial transfer to your Blocked Account. The transfer receipt needs to indicate the transferred amount as well as the sender and recipient bank account details. OR
(1b) If you would like to have your funds sent to an account in your Name: Please provide a bank document stating the bank account information of where you intend to receive your funds. The bank document needs to confirm the details provided in your 09 Closing Order.
- An official confirmation from a German authority (called "Sperrfreigabe" in German) stating that your blocked funds can be released (in case of visa rejection, a rejection letter does the job).
Please note: it may take up to 4 weeks to process the closing order and transfer the amount.
