If you have already changed your plan and you have withdrawn your visa application then you can close your account. Please send your closing request via this contact form choosing "Blocked Account Closing" as a category of request.
In order to close your account please provide the following 2 documents:
- 'Sperrfreigabe' - a document from the German Embassy in your home country stating that your visa application has been withdrawn. This document is also known as the Blocked Account Release confirmation.
- Bank account confirmation that provides the details for the future transfer of the funds - account number, IBAN and BIC.
Note: The bank details must either match with the information of the bank account from which the payment came originally or contain the information of the new bank account created in your name.
The Total Blocked Amount less the fees will be sent back to you (in case of visa rejection, we will also refund all the fees including the past monthly service fee that has been charged). Should there be any bank or transfer fees, the €100 buffer will be used to cover the costs.
Service fees are charged for every full month, so if you transferred on 27 May and submitted the closing request on 20th July, the service fee is applicable for one month (27 May to 27 June).
Should there be any bank or transfer fees, the €100 buffer will be used to cover the costs.
The Sperrfreigabe is mandatory when closing your Blocked Account.
