💬 TIPS
⦁ There is no separate window for identification. Show the required documents to the person at the window, where you drop off the package, like everyone else.
⦁ You may not have internet inside the Post Office. Download the coupon ahead of time and have it ready when you enter.
- Once you're done verifying your identity, you'll be asked to confirm your information on the screen and sign.
Important: if there is a mismatch between your passport and the report Postident submits to our banking partner, Aion, the verification will fail on Aion's end and you will have to repeat it. To avoid this, follow the below steps:
- check your first name ('Vorname'), last name ('Name') and date of birth ('Geburtsdatum') carefully on the report
- make sure that these details match your passport exactly
Tip: if your passport does not differentiate between your first name and last name on the upper section, refer to the MRZ lines at the bottom to be sure; it is built as follows:
P<3 digit country codelast name 1<last name 2 (if any)<<first name 1<first name 2 (if any)<<<<<
Example 1 (first and last name too):
First name: John
Last name: Doe Jones
Nationality: Indian
P<INDDOE<JONES<<JOHN<<<<<
Example 2 (first name only):
First name: John
Last name: [none]
Nationality: Indian
P<IND<<JOHN<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Example 3 (last name only):
First name: [none]
Last name: Doe
Nationality: Indian
P<INDDOE<<<<<<<<<<<<<
- if there is an error, ask the Postident agent to correct it before signing the form
Good to know
- You will not receive a confirmation document from the post office. A confirmation email will be sent to you after Postident forwards your verification details to Aion and Aion processes it.
- The identity verification at the post office takes about 5 minutes.
- Processing the verification results by Aion and Expatrio takes a few hours to 3 days.
