For Provisit Student private health insurance, you will have two certificates.
- DW Provisional certificate: This is your incoming insurance certificate, you can find it as the "provisional certificate" on user portal. You have to update your expected arrival date if you want to change the start date of the incoming insurance.
- DW Consultation Protocol: This document shows the full period of your Provisit Student private health insurance and you can use it to show the authority that you have opted for the following insurance coverage from the "beginning of studies" and the contract type of the Comprehensive insurance is "up to 5 years term, can be cancelled monthly".
If you need to update the start date of your Provisit Student private health insurance, you have to update your study start date, please note that you can only update the semester you are attending.
The semester start date is going to be the insurance start date by default, as due to local regulations you have to be covered by a German public health insurance or substitutive private health insurance during your studies at a German university. This is not affected by your arrival date, even if you will arrive later than your universities official semester start date.
You can update one month before the study start date and before the exemption is sent to TK public health insurance. After that, if you want to change your study start date, you have to contact our service team.
If you need to update the start date of your insurance please do the following:
- Login to the Expatrio Portal
- Select 'Personal Data' from the menu
- Scroll down to the Study Information
- Select 'Edit Information' in the bottom right corner
Here you can make the necessary changes to your arrival date in Germany. Once saved, please refresh your page, then download the updated certificate from the 'Documents' section.
- For any other changes you can submit a request by contacting the Expatrio Support Team; please make sure to choose the category "Personal Data Change Request"
- If you have purchased a standalone DR-WALTER insurance, please contact DR-WALTER directly.
