Provisit Student Private Health Insurance holders have their Digital Confirmation (the M10 form) automatically sent to their university one month before the expected study start date! We ask for your consent during the application, and ask our public health insurance partner, TK, to send the M10 digital confirmation to your university. This notification is sufficient proof of your insurance status for your university enrollment.
If you would like to know whether your university has this digital confirmation, please contact your university directly. Do not forget: As a Provisit insurance holder, this process will be done only one month before your expected study start date (as registered on your Expatrio portal), not sooner than that!
If you changed your university since your application, it is okay. Please update it on the User Portal under the Personal Data section. If you do this less than one month before your expected study start date, please contact our service team to tell us that you updated your university details and ask us to send your insurance details to the new university.
Tip: If it is more than one month until your expected study start date, you do not have to contact us.
If your university informs you that they have not yet received the digital confirmation or you need the M10 sent earlier to your university because of early enrollment, please contact the Expatrio service team.
Please note that the exemption must be requested in writing from a statutory health insurance company and cannot be reversed. So opting for private health insurance means being covered by it for the entire duration of studies without the option to switch to statutory health insurance. Once your studies are over and you start working in Germany, you can choose between private health insurance or a statutory health insurance provider.
