Yes, you can trust Expatrio's Blocked Account.
Our users are using their Expatrio Blocked Accounts during their German visa and residence permit processes worldwide.
All the blocked accounts are set up under the blocked account holder's (your) name.
The accounts set up with our primary banking partner, Aion, have a German IBAN and are protected by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme. That means that you will get your money back (up to €100,000 per account) even in case of bankruptcy, theft, fraud, etc.
The accounts set up with our other banking partner, Mangopay, are secured as well. In this case, the funds are kept on an extra secure escrow account. This means that your funds are segregated in a dedicated escrow account and are neither part of Expatrio’s nor our banking partners’ own assets and, being solely for the benefit of the Customers, are protected from the claims of Expatrio’s or our banking partners’ other creditors. Besides, the funds are not included as part of the assets of Expatrio or our banking partner in the event of its liquidation, bankruptcy or any other situation affecting its creditors’ rights.
