During the Blocked Account activation, we will ask for your consent in Terms and Conditions to open a Bank Account* for you, where you can receive your monthly payouts from your Blocked Account. If you confirm, this account is opened for free, and you can access it from your Expatrio App. In that case, you are not asked to provide any IBAN details during the activation of your blocked account!
One of the benefits of our Bank Account is that you receive your monthly payouts instantly after the account is activated, and you can always transfer your funds from that account to any SEPA account for free.
However, if you still would like to connect your Blocked Account to another SEPA bank account rather than the Expatrio Bank account to receive your monthly payouts there, we can send the monthly payouts from your blocked account to any SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) bank account opened under your name.
If you don't confirm with the T&C, you will be asked to provide your SEPA account information under your name so you can receive your monthly payouts. You can find helpful information and account setup tips for the banking providers we recommend here, but you do not have to choose from this list.
If your blocked account is already active, you can follow below steps to update your bank account:
- Go to your Blocked Account page
- Scroll down to the "Connected Bank Account" tab
- Click the "request IBAN change" button
- Write the IBAN and BIC code that you would like to receive your monthly payouts to
- Save.
If you are not able to see this tab to update your IBAN, please contact our support team with your bank document proving your IBAN number you would like to change to. They will be able to assist you.
