DR Walter EDUCARE 24 Private Health Insurance holders have to contact a German public health insurance provider (for example, AOK, DAK, Barmer, or TK) and ask them to share their private health insurance data electronically with their university. For this, you do not have to be covered by one of those public health insurance providers.
Expatrio's Public Health Insurance partner is Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), but you do not have to choose TK; you can ask any of the other public health insurance providers as well.
If you decide to go with TK to get your insurance data sent to your university, please contact them at service@tk.de with the details of your request, including the name and city of your German university and the DR-WALTER Private Health Insurance certificate that you can download from your User Portal.
Please note: TK will likely follow up on your request without responding.
If you want confirmation that your university has received the digital confirmation (M10), please contact your university directly 2-3 business days after sending your request to TK.
