If you have Provisit Student Private Health Insurance, the Digital Confirmation (the M10-2 form) automatically sent to your university no later than 1 month before your official semester start date.
We asked for your consent during the application, we will send exemption to the public health insurance provider and they will send the M10 digital confirmation to your university. This notification is sufficient proof of your insurance status for your university enrolment.
If you would like to know whether your university has this digital confirmation, please contact your university directly.
You can update your university details and your expected study start date from your user portal. Please check here to know how to change your university details.
If your university informs you that they have not yet received the digital confirmation or you need the M10 sent earlier to your university because of early enrollment, please contact the Expatrio service team.
Please note that the exemption must be requested in writing from a statutory health insurance company and cannot be reversed. So opting for private health insurance means being covered by it for the entire duration of studies without the option to switch to statutory health insurance. Once your studies are over and you start working in Germany, you can choose between private health insurance or a statutory health insurance provider.
