SEPA Direct Debit
SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area and is an initiative to synchronise payments across a range of countries within the Eurozone. The goal of SEPA direct debit is to ensure that European payments are made easily throughout region, as the countries in this region also share the same currency.
SEPA direct debit pulls funds from the nominated SEPA account and does not need any card networks involved. This is why you may find that your IBAN is not located on your card but on another document, such as in the banking app or the bank account statement.
