Expatrio will not charge any fees for incoming transfers. However, your bank or transfer provider will likely apply transaction fees.
Different banks charge different fees. It is important for you to confirm with your banking provider when making your transfer.
As a reminder, your bank is independent from Expatrio. We can not advise you on the transaction fees they will apply.
If you use transfer providers like wise, transfer go etc... they might have different exchange rates and charges, please contact them directly.
If the funds arrive in your blocked account less than you expected, the most likely cause for the missing amount is the charges type that was used for this transfer. There are three different charge options when you make a transfer:
OUR: you (the sender) pay all the transfer fees upfront
SHA: you (the sender) pay your bank's outgoing transfer charge, and the recipient receives the amount minus the intermediary bank charges
BEN: you (the sender) pay no transfer fees and the recipient receives the amount minus all the transfer fees
Important: The amount we asked you to transfer included a €100 buffer. We ask for this buffer in cases like yours when fewer funds arrive than you intended. The buffer ensures that your balance is still sufficient; you do not have to cover the missing amount with an additional transfer. If this happens, then your buffer payout, which is due with the last monthly payout from your blocked account, will be for less than €100 (€100-the charged fees).
