Factors
Seeing the domestic payment options depends on several things:
-
The country where you will transfer from.
We can offer an EUR and USD payment option from most countries, and a payment option in the local currency in several countries. Our payment set up flow starts with a question about where you will transfer from, and the tool will offer you the options available in that country.
-
Your current location.
The payment options also depend on where you are (or which countries VPN you are using) when setting up a payment process. Some of the payment options that we can offer are not available if you are currently in an EEA country, or using an EEA country VPN.
Tip: to have access to all of our payment options we recommend not to use an EEA country VPN while setting up your payment process. If you are already in Germany but your funds will come from an other country, you might want to ask someone who is in that country to set up your payment.
-
Your profession.
One of our payment providers is licensed for education related transactions only (for example opening a blocked account to get a Visa to come to study in Germany), and therefore we can not provide these options to you if you said on your application that you are for example a job seeker or intern.
Tip: if you originally listed a non-education related profession but your plans about what you will do in Germany changed in the meantime, contact our customer support team and we will help you change your profession.
