The Additional Basic Sum is seen as additional security during your stay in Germany which you might need to deposit into your blocked account.
Usually, you do not need to deposit an Additional Basic Sum. However, sometimes, the German visa authority handling your visa or residence permit application may ask you to add your tuition fees to your blocked account as the unblocked amount.
We add this amount as an Additional Basic Sum to your blocked account.
If no such request has been made, please do not enter an Additional Basic Sum while ordering the Blocked Account.
In order to add the tuition amount to your existing Blocked Account, please contact our customer support directly with the amount you need!
How can the Additional Basic Sum be released?
Please contact our customer support when you want your Additional Basic Sum to be released.
We will ask for one of the below documents to release these funds to you.
